A Path To The Future
Work continues apace on the U's new stadium and, despite the cold weather, progress has been good.
The brickies from BuildSeek are represented in large numbers now, with twenty brickies and ten hod carriers working on site at all times in order to get that stage of the build done.
Over the past fortnight, the internal office spaces and the size of the hospitality areas have become very much clearer, but it is not only the internal works that have been the focus of attention.
At present, work has started on the concrete apron that surrounds the pitch, particularly on the East and West sides of the ground.
This apron, which comes in at 2.7 metres wide, is being installed in six metre sections, joined together with construction joints which will allow the concrete to expand and contract without cracking depending on future temperatures.
