Downey's Boys Back In Town
Steve Downey's youth team hopefuls were back in town on Wednesday, as they did their first day of fitness testing ahead of the pre-season build-up.
Seven new faces were in evidence at Wednesday's sessions, with two - Michael Rafter and Shane Cusack - currently away at a Republic of Ireland training camp.
The new boys and this year's second years were put through their paces at the University of Essex with bleep tests and agility drills, before returning to Layer Road in the afternoon for some ball work to blow the cobwebs away.
The youth team have returned a week or so ahead of Geraint Williams' first team outfit, who will also be put through similar fitness work upon their return by Donough Holohan and the University of Essex staff.
Over the next week or two, we will be introducing you to the stars of the future here on CU-FC.com, so be sure to stay tuned!
