Mark Yeates was the U's hero as his two goals give the U's another point on the road, but once again two goals weren't enough to win a game for Geraint Williams' men.
The U's continued their unbeaten away record in the Championship but, despite hitting the back of the net twice, failed to win as they drew 2-2 at Blackpool.
A goalless first half had seen the home side start better but the U's gradually got into the match and finished the half stronger, without getting the all important opener.
Four goals in the second half saw the U's come back twice as two Mark Yeates' free kicks earned a point.
U's boss Geraint Williams named an unchanged starting eleven for the first time this season, sticking with Adam Virgo at centre back after his impressive display at Southampton.
Matt Connolly, having served his one match ban, had to settle for a place on the bench and the U's were once more without the services of former England international Teddy Sheringham.
That meant Clive Platt and Kevin Lisbie continuing up front for Geraint's men as they looked to extend their unbeaten away record in the Championship to four games.
Simon Grayson must have also been satisfied with his side's performance as they drew 2-2 with Sheffield United on Tuesday night, picking the same eleven that faced the Blades.
Grayson's side have had a solid start to the season, taking nine points from their first six games as they get reacquainted with life in the Championship.
The game started with the sun out and the U's kicked off attacking the end full of Blackpool fans hoping to build on that draw at St Marys.
They were kept away from the home goal for the majority of the first twenty minutes, with the home side having the lion's share of possession.
The only effort on goal came when a free kick was blocked by Adam Virgo after Virgo himself fouled Burgess on the edge of the box.
After a Hoolahan shot in the nineteenth minute came to nothing, the U's had their first effort on goal when Virgo was again in the action. A Mark Yeates corner rebounded to the defender but his shot was saved at the near post.
Both teams then had shots blocked by defenders before either keeper was troubled and tehn Kem Izzet failed to connect properly from the edge of the box and dragged his shot wide.
The best chance of the half came from the home side just as the U's looked to be getting a foothold on the game.
Karl Duguid lost possession before Ben Burgess powered his way into the area. He shrugged off Duguid before rifling his left foot shot off the outside of the post.
With all Blackpool's attacking coming on the break, it was the U's who finished the half the strongest.
Johnnie Jackson got clear on the right in the forty second minute before cutting back on to his left foot and whilling the ball into the danger area.
No U's attacker could get a touch though and the ball zipped across the goal and out for a goal kick.
Geraint Williams would have be the happiest of the two managers as his side rode the early pressure, didn't concede and then came into the game.
The U's were having the best of the play towards the end of the half and Geraint would have been telling his players to keep pressing but concentrate when Blackpool broke out, with Morrell and Burgess causing problems when in possession.
Blackpool started the second half the better and this time turned possession into a goal as Morrell swept home at the far post as a corner was flicked onto him.
On Wednesday, it took the U's six minutes to respond. It took ten at Bloomfield Road as Mark Yeates curled a free kick in off the post to equalize after sixty three minutes.
The game settled down with neither team getting too many chances, and neither team looking like getting the winner.
With only six minutes to go though, disappointing defending left Barker free and the defender's header looped back across Davison and in the far corner.
Only three minutes later, it was that man Mark Yeates who stepped up to equalize once again.
This time he didn't need the post's help as his flighted effort hit the back of the net.
Geraint Williams will be hoping that two goals will be enough to win a game soon as this 2-2 draw makes it five draws in the seven games to date.
The U's remain unbeaten away but once again only pick up one point.
