The three Community Stadium Partners have signed the latest key document.

Colchester Borough Council, Colchester United Football Club and Colchester United Community Sports Trust representitives were at the Town Hall on Thursday morning to put their names to the legal papers, along with Colchester Mayor, Ray Gamble.

Mayor Gamble said of the signings: "I am absolutely delighted, as a long term supporter of Colchester United and a season ticket holder over many years, that I should be Mayor at this time and I can sign this document."

Now that this document have been signed, the next step becomes the detailed planning application, which is to be put before the planning commitee on Thursday evening.

Barr have already been appointed as builders of the new Community Stadium and are on site at Cuckoo Farm in readiness for the go-ahead to proceed.

Building work should start soon after the application has been successful and the Stadium has a projected build time of approximately forty six weeks.
