Detailed Planning Permission has been granted for the new Community Stadium.

The approval came at a planning meeting at Colchester Town Hall on Thursday evening and followed hot on the heals of all three partners, Colchester United, Colchester Borough Council and Colchester United Community Sports Trust signing off the final legal documents 'locking them into the project'.

There were two very minor conditions put into the approval: wheel cleaning before the construction vehicles left the site and regrowing of hedges and trees removed for site access on Boxted Road.

Planning permission with these two conditions was unanimously passed by the Planning Commitee and a full partnership statement will be released on Friday.
