The U's reserves picked up their second draw of the season on Wednesday night when they took on Stevenage reserves.

Second half substitute Medy Elito was the star of the show as, fresh from his World Cup trip to Korea, he put on a lively performance down the flanks against the Broadhall Way side.

The first half saw the U's create plenty but rue missed opportunities, and that was particularly the case when the home team went into the break with a one goal advantage.

It could have been more, but Mark Cousins saved a penalty in the first period to keep the  U's in touch with their opponents.

The second half saw things burst into life and the introduction of Elito at the break immediately brought the visitors back into the game.

He escaped the attentions of the Stevenage full back before planting a pin point ball onto the head of Jamie Guy, who made no mistake as he buried the ball in the top corner.

John White was on hand to clear off the line on the hour mark, before Clive Platt went close on 72 minutes as he smacked the crossbar with a decent effort from the left hand side.

Two minutes later and that man Elito was on hand to cause more problems, going just wide with a measured volley,

The final twenty minutes of the match saw the U's create a multitude of chances but they were left to rue not converting those opportunities as the game finished all square.
