U's international hopefuls Mark Yeates and Medy Elito both made substitute appearances for their country on Tuesday night.

Yeatesy came off the bench to play the final half hour of the game against Scotland B, who included former U's man Chris Iwelumo in their starting eleven.

The U's Irish winger made an immediate impression, crashing a shot against the crossbar that fellow substitute Des Byrne tucked home.

He then had a couple of further chances to extend the Irish lead, before the Scots earned a late draw as Steve Howard headed past Dan O'Connor.

Meanwhile, Medy played the whole of the second half as England U18s defeated their Ghanaian counterparts 2-0.

Daniel Welbeck and Daniel Drinkwater scored the goals for England, and Medy enjoyed an impressive forty-five minutes at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium.

Completing a hat-trick of international activity, Matt Connolly was named on the bench for England U21s, but was not introduced in their game against Portugal.

And Bela Balogh will hope to earn his tenth cap this evening when the Hungarians take on Greece in their final Euro 2008 qualifier.
