U's winger Mark Yeates believes that Dagenham & Redbridge's recent improvement in form shows that things can quickly change in football.

Not so long ago, John Still's side looked like they might be in big trouble at the foot of League Two, as they slipped into the bottom two after an extended winless run.

However, on Tuesday night they denied Hereford United the chance to go top of the league with a battling 1-0 win and, in the process, recorded their fourth successive victory.

Friends with two of the Daggers players, U's winger Mark Yeates was in attendance at Victoria Road for the crunch clash.

And the wide man believes that the U's can look to their near neighbours for inspiration as they look to pull themselves out of the Championship relegation zone.

He told CU-FC.com: "A month ago they were down at the bottom of the league, but now they have won four on the spin after beating Hereford and things look a lot different for them.

"They've done really well and they've shown it can be done.

"If you can win a couple of games back to back, things start to look a lot different and we will have to try and get a run of results together.

"To be fair, everyone knows that our home form has been the key to our success over the past few seasons and the fact that we now have four games at home in the next six gives us a chance to improve on our record this season and pick up some points.

"That starts with Wolves, which is a big game. All of our matches now are massive, noone needs to be told that."

The full interview appears with Mark in Saturday's U's Review.
