U's loanee Matt Heath will stay with the Layer Road club until the end of the season, after extending his loan with the club.

The central defender's initial month's deal was due to come to a close after Saturday's game against Leicester, but he will now be with the U's until after the game against Scunthorpe on the final day.

The weekend clash at the Walkers Stadium sees Matt return to his first club - and the side he supported as a boy - as the U's look to react to their relegation with a three point haul.

The loan extension will be confirmed once paperwork has been cleared with the relevant footballing authorities.
