The following statement was released by the club and CUSA in the final ever match programme on Saturday. It brings you up to date with the latest on the travel management plan for Cuckoo Farm.

As we leave Layer Road for one last time we can look forward to next meeting up in our new 10,000 all-seated stadium.

We know from the questionnaires we received that many would love there to be 10,000 Free Car Parking Spaces with all traffic lights en route at green, but the real world isn't like that is it?

Planning consent for the stadium was granted subject to an approved Travel Plan that would protect local residents and manage ease of transportation to and from the stadium and that is what we are working on.

We know you would want, and we would love to be able to give you, more comprehensive details of the Travel Plan but some elements are still being negotiated so please be patient.

The delay doesn't mean it's all collapsing around us it means that working together the Football Club and CUSA are intent on giving you a plan that will get you to the ground at minimum cost with minimum inconvenience and we are intent on getting it right first time.

So what can we say with certainty?

? There will be about 600 car park spaces available at the Stadium which can be booked in advance for £10 per game (Disabled £5). We encourage you to share the cost by travelling four in each vehicle, thus reducing it to £2.50 per person, if possible.

? There will be in the region of a further 400 car park spaces available at a competitive fee at locations to be announced within Severalls Park/Colchester Business Park supported by a FREE Shuttle Bus service to and from the stadium.

? There will be a FREE Shuttle Bus service between Bruff Close and the stadium.

? We are negotiating with Bus Operators to see if we can arrange travel from various locations within Colchester to and from Bruff Close at discounted fares.

? We are negotiating with Bus Operators to see if we can arrange travel from outlying areas such as Chelmsford, Witham, Braintree, Clacton etc. at competitive fares.

As soon as we reach agreement on the final plan details will be released to the media so look for features in the local papers, on TV and radio and on the Football Club and CUSA websites during the close season.
