U's boss Geraint Williams has made two late additions to the squad travelling north to Scunthorpe for Sunday's concluding Championship fixture.

James Hammond and Fabian Quintyn, recently offered professional contracts by the U's, have made the trip to Glanford Park as they make their first steps with the senior side.

"We have had a couple of players drop out of the original squad after Saturday's training," Geraint explained.

"I didn't think it was fair on the four lads that we are releasing to take them on this trip and then tell them we won't be offering them contracts.

"Instead, it is an opportunity for these two young men to see what professionalism goes into preparing for a first team game.

"They will be able to get involved with the work on the pitch before the game and it is both a well done to them for their efforts this season and to show them what's in store in the future."

Defender James has been given squad number 25, whilst front man Fabian wil take 26.
