Exclusive: Heath Signs Permanent Deal
Posted on: Tue 13 May 2008
The U's have made their first dive into the summer transfer market by capturing Matt Heath on a permanent contract from Leeds United.
The loanee had quickly won over the Layer Road support during his two month stint at the end of the season and had also impressed the U's management team.
The 27-year-old had found himself out of favour at Leeds before his temporary switch and has now been persuaded to be part of the U's attempts to bounce back into the Championship next season at Cuckoo Farm.
The move will no doubt be the first of many this summer, with boss Geraint Williams having already shaken up his squad following the relegation in 2007/8.
Matt's move will be confirmed subject to Football League and FA paperwork clearance.
