It is just over a week until memorabilia hunters around the country will be able to descend on Layer Road and get their hands on a piece of Colchester United history.

As revealed here on CU-FC.com earlier in the summer, items including turnstiles, office equipment and memorabilia will go under the hammer at an auction held at Layer Road.

Some 500 or more lots will be up for grabs, including some much sought after items, including the ball used by Richard Cresswell to score the final ever goal in a competitive match at Layer Road.

The auction will take place on Sunday, July 20th and a viewing day will be held 24 hours earlier and if you're intending to bid on any items, you are requested to register your interest with Stanfords, the auctioneers co-ordinating events on behalf of the club.

Stay tuned to the official website over the coming weeks as we give you the lowdown on what's up for grabs, as we take a look at some of the more unique lots available.
