The U's have the keys for their new home and were busily moving in on Thursday in preparation for the new era.

It has been less than twelve months since the official turf cutting and contractors Barr have been on site ever since.

Barr's Site Manager Steven Barr has overseen the fifty one week build and was pleased to see the keys handed over at the beginning of this week.

He told CU-FC.com; "We are very pleased with the end product and I hope that the club, council and Colchester are all pleased as well.

"We have had a few spells of wet weather but to be honest, we have generally had good working weather throughout the project."

With the U's new Weston Homes Community Stadium all but completed, Steven wasn't sure where Barr would be sending him next but was looking forward to a short break.

"I'm not sure where my next build will be at the moment but it'll be nice to have a little bit of time not worrying about a deadline of any description!" he added.
