There was yet more good news for fans of Colchester United on Wednesday as the Colchester United Supporters' Association and the Football Club have confirmed they have linked up with National Express to provide a special deal that gives supporters the chance to buy a special season ticket for rail travel to Colchester for the U's League One games this season.

Following the successful launch of the first elements of the Matchday Travel Plan earlier in the summer, another option has been provided by the U's and the CUSA for fans looking to be a part of the club's promotion push this year.

U's Chief Executive Marie Partner and CUSA Secretary Roger Westlake announced the deal to the local media at the U's new home on Wednesday afternoon.

From 30 stations around the area, fans can get a 25% discount on the price of 23 Cheap Day Return tickets. This ticket can be used to travel to and from all 23 League Games and also includes any home Cup Ties that the U's might have at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Fans can then alight at Colchester station and link up with the shuttle bus service, with the First Essex bus services taking fans to the new 10,000 all-seater stadium for free!

"We are delighted that we have achieved another milestone in bringing together an easy and affordable form of transport to add to the shuttle bus service launched earlier this year," Marie Partner said.

"By now offering supporters the opportunity to also benefit from another form of transportation, this innovative package will serve those people who live further afield and hopefully encourage even more supporters to come along and be a part of our new era."

A full list of fares are included below, but examples include a return from Chelmsford for just £6.40 a match and, if you're heading from the other direction, a return fare from Ipswich works out at only £5.40!

These season tickets will be available direct from National Express in the week leading upto the first U's home game, to be played on August 16th.
