U'S STARS: Join in as painting gets underway in a Highwood's subway

Karl Duguid was on hand with Eddie the Eagle and Jamie Guy to begin painting the town's underpasses blue and white.

Work on the four main underpasses in the town centre and one on Highwoods started on Friday and will continue over the weekend with the Probation Service and local young offfenders carrying out the painting duties.

With paint and all the associated materials being donated by B & Q, Karl, Jamie and Eddie were at the Highwoods underpass to begin the weekend's work and were put on roller duty in front of a few interested onlookers.

The underpasses are being painted blue and white to replicate the town's football club colours and it is hoped that the new look will prevent further graffiti and give the local youngsters something to be proud of.
