U's defender Adam Virgo is not ruling out a switch to Layer Road once his loan spell expires at the end of December.

The Celtic loanee has been back in the U's defence in recent weeks and admitted to the Colchester Gazette that he would talk about moving down south on a more permanent basis.

"Nothing has been discussed yet," he told the local paper.

"I don't think anything will be discussed for a little while and I'm more than happy to concentrate on playing and doing well for the team.

"When the time is right, I will sit down with the manager and decide what the future is, but at the moment it is just about playing and doing my best for the team."

When asked if a permanant move was something that he would welcome, Virgo said: "Yes, definitely.

"The manager has been good and I have enjoyed working with the players.

"I need to speak to Celtic with regards to what they want to do with me so it is a bit up in the air at the moment and I can't really say too much because I don't know myself."
