U's winger Mark Yeates is keeping his focus on being ready for pre-season at Cuckoo Farm as he continues his recovery from a shoulder dislocation.

The Irishman has been subject of some speculation over the summer but insists its just part of the game.

He told the My Football Writer website: "It's part of football isn't it, I'm sure there's been things in the paper about a few of the lads - myself included - but I don't know, it's just something you've got to get on with and put it aside.

"Of course if there's clubs interested or things being said in the paper about then you're obviously doing something right, so as a player you've got to take it as a compliment but obviously you just take it as speculation as well.

"Because until somebody actually gets on the phone or puts something in writing then all it is, is just talk."
