Danny Granville brings a wealth of upper league experience to Layer Road.
The 32-year-old has spent the vast majority of his career in the top two divisions, having started his footballing life in East Anglia with Cambridge United.
Starting as a trainee at the Abbey Stadium, Danny went on to make over 100 appearances for the other U's, although he had left three years previous to Luke Guttridge's spell at the club.
His performances for Cambridge encouraged Chelsea to bring him on board, as they spent £300,000 on the pacey left back. It was a short stay at Stamford Bridge, as he headed to Leeds United fifteen months later for £1.6m.
During his time at Elland Road, he enjoyed a successful loan spell with Manchester City and in November 1999, City paid £1m to take him to Maine Road.
He went on to make 70 appearances for City in the Premiership, with a brief loan spell at Norwich City in the penultimate year of his stay in the North West.
He then returned south to London, where Crystal Palace paid £500,000 for his services and he enjoyed the most productive spell of his career.
He made some 138 appearances for the Selhurst Park club, enjoying probably his best season for the Eagles in the Premiership campaign of 2004/05, missing only four games all season at left-back, while he also scored three goals.
Danny has a mean left foot and if he's not providing a useful cross for the strikers, he can be found measuring up a free-kick from anywhere around the penalty box.
Unfortunately, the 2005/06 season was ruined by injury for Granville, but in his one appearance in the Carling Cup against Walsall he did net a stunning contender for Goal Of The Season.
2006/07 saw Danny make just 15 appearances and he will be hoping for better times this season.
